About us
Established in 1985, Voluntary Health Association Delhi is a dedicated non-governmental organization working tirelessly to make health a tangible reality for the people of Delhi. We are affiliated with the Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI), a prominent national health organization operating through a widespread network of grassroots organizations and community health programs across the country. Our primary focus is on enhancing health awareness and providing skill development training, particularly aimed at empowering women to achieve financial self-sufficiency.

Aims & Objective
• Health for all with a Fundamental Right in favour of low socio economic level
• The basics of health such as adequate food, balanced diet, safe water and well being.
• Community participation for the promotion and improvement of Health.
• Health in all its aspects: Physical, Social, Mental, Psychological and Spiritual.
• Working with committed, dedicated and interested people in the area.
• Collaboration with Educational Institutions and Voluntary Organizations.
• To supplement and Implement the programs and policies of the Government.
Activities
• Heath Awareness Programmes in school and local NGO’s.
• Working with Anganwadi Workers, and Asha Workers.
• Medical Check-up, Menstrual Hygiene and health awareness.
• Teachers training prog. for health awareness, gender sensitivity, & Population Education.
• Awareness on various health issues like Tobacco, Cancer, T.B., Covid-19.
• Health related program /activities regarding to RCH, RTI/STI, HIV /AIDS.
• Collaboration with other organizations working in the operational Area.
• Participation in the Spl. Prog. Organized by FICCI, PHD Corporate Sector & Vishwa Yuvak Kendra.
• Skill development training in Beauty Culture and Computer Applicationn.

OUR JOURNEY (A journey of 39 years)
VHAD was registered as Health Organization in the year 1985. It has completed 39 years of its working in Delhi. The organization grown in years as voluntary organization in the field of health by improving the quality of the health status of men, women and children in its operational area in Delhi, mainly in slums, resettlement colonies & villages. We extend our gratitude to the collaborating National, International organizations, FICCI & PHD chamber Corporate Sector, International Youth centre, Family Planning Association of Delhi Branch, Mahila Vikas Sansthan, Manas Yog Sansthan, Dept. of Health and Family Welfare Delhi Admn. Directorate of Education.
Projects has been sanctioned by UNHCR, UNICEF, VHAI & Dept. sof Delhi Govt.
During the period VHAD implemented the following projects.
(a) UNHCR for refugees support funded by United Nations High Commission from 1995 to 2007.
(b) Project on small family norms-RCH in 1997 funded by Dept. of Family Welfare, Delhi Administration.
(c) School Sanitation Project supported by UNICEF-PARIVARTAN in 80 MCD Primary Schools in 1998.
(d) AIDS Awareness Project in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University in the year 1998.
(e) Training of Teachers and Students on HIV/AIDS in 2001 in collaboration with Delhi State AIDS Control Society and Directorate of Education.
(f) Environmental Awareness Campaign Project through Indian Environment Society, Mother NGO of Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India.
(g) DOTS Project under National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP) supported by T.B. Alert London and Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.
(h) AIDS Awareness Project, Financial Assistance by Delhi State AIDS Control.
(i) Project on Survey and Evaluation of the Adolescent Girls Scheme funded by Dept. of Women and Child Development, Ministry of HRD.
(j) In 2016 the organization has established Skill Development Training at CB-64 A, Naraina to make the trainees improve their quality of life through Income Generation and sustain to the organization in financial crunch.

Welcome to the Voluntary Health Association Delhi (VHAD). Since our inception in 1985, our mission has been to make health a reality for the people of Delhi, in our operational area. We are proud of our comprehensive health awareness initiatives and skill development programs that empower women and foster community well-being.
VHAD is collaborating with over 10 organizations/Institutions. Our successes rooted in the dedication of our diverse team of advocates, teacher, social workers, doctors and our collaboration with numerous organizations and institutions. Together, we strive to create a healthier, more self-sufficient community in its operational area.
